A few decorating ideas can turn your yard into a relaxing sanctuary, a place where you can feel that you can enjoy nature, a place where you can enjoy a coffee or a lemonade or simply a place where you can admire the rain or to enjoy the silence.
Summer has come, actually we are in the middle of it. Usually redecorating the garden goes into spring cleaning, but it doesn’t have to be a rule for everyone. From my point of view, the “right moment” is the moment that fits perfectly with your needs and plans. The phrase “in line with the world” almost never applies to me, because I tend to get out of line, so I think it’s no problem if you can’t do everything when you’re ”supposed” to.
Decorating ideas made by reusing some objects
I like to reuse things used for purposes other than their original purpose. Probably some of you have noticed this in other articles. The articles How to plan your wedding, Anniversary decor or Tropical birthday contain other ideas for reusing some products.
To arrange the yard I used objects such as: kitchen plates, cups and glasses that replace the pots very well, a used car tire has become round for flowers, an old chair is now a support for a pot, a lantern holds the place of a pot with hooks, and a plastic box became a birdhouse – all this in addition to the pots and figurines found in shops.
Certainly, there are much more elaborate models and variants when we speak about decorating ideas. You can reuse a bicycle, a wheelbarrow, or even the casing of a car to make outdoor decorations, it all depends on the space and the objects you own. The more you limit your imagination, the less you will see the potential of the “garbage” you have.
Imagination exercise:
- Take another look at any object you want to throw away
- Imagine the object full of flowers or other plants
- Try to achieve it
Reusing damaged or discarded items actually prolongs their life. I think that in this way we also protect the environment, because garbage does not always get where it needs to go.
Decorating ideas made of wood
You can add an extra personality to the yard / garden / balcony or even a glass window sill, with the help of wooden decorations. The good news is that they can be made from scrap or even old wood! Don’t forget the little creatures, you can help them with a pot of water, a box for insects, a house with bird seeds or other options that you think it will fit your space.
The objects created can be purely decorative, functional or both. If you are a fan of perfect lines and contours, I recommend that you measure and sand the wood well so that you do not encounter difficulties when drawing or writing on its surface. I went through these two stages, because I am not (anymore) bothered by imperfections. If you find that you enjoy making wooden objects, you can also make them as gift for your loved ones.
It takes a piece of wood and a little inspiration to create such a decoration. Below are some decorating ideas with patterns I made.
For me, any creative activity is therapy – I relax, I load myself with joy and positive feelings, these in addition to the feeling of satisfaction at the end of any project or household activity.
Don’t worry that rain or sun will damage certain objects, some may look erased, vintage, some objects may crack, but all of this can improve their design, depending on how you perceive things, and you can recondition them anyway, next year.
I hope I managed to inspire you with this article as well!
