It is the month in which we celebrate love! You don’t have to wait until Valentine’s day to pay attention to your loved one, but Yes! – Love must be celebrated!
We usually find flowers, balloons and hearts at every step in February. Some are overwhelmed by romance, others are nostalgic and some even annoyed … but it is an event that does not go unnoticed! Love is not just about two, so if you are not half a couple, it does not mean that love is not for you too! I used to feel on the outside in my teens, when February 14th found me alone. In this direction, the event is promoted through almost all means of communication, but I concluded that it depends on us how we perceive it. Love is for everyone and I believe that if we look closely at ourselves, we find more than one person who deserves our love.
In Romania we have February 24th as a celebration of love called ”Dragobete”. If your partner is of Romanian nationality, I think he/she would be really surprised to receive a little attention on this date (if they not, maybe he/she forgotten about this event or haven’t heard of it, because it’s not as intensely promoted as Valentine’s Day).
Activities for Valentine’s Day
When you are in love, any activity with your loved one can be considered romantic. A walk in the park, watching a movie, dining, a game of billiards, a running session or any other common activities to practice together! Given the current conditions, I think that this year we will celebrate this event at home, with the family.
Gift ideas for Valentine’s Day
I consider that gifts do not have a unit of measure and any gesture even small, must be appreciated! Some men choose Valentine’s day to give their girlfriend the engagement ring and probably many young ladies are expecting something similar plus a trip to Paris, nothing to condemn, who wouldn’t want it ?! If you know your partner, you probably already know if he or she is the type who offers gifts or not.
In the next article I will present some hand/homemade gift ideas that can be offered to your loved one, some quite easy to make, such as the arrangement with chocolate candies in the coffee mug, shown in the image of the article.
Until then, you can take a look at the bookmarks made of natural leather, or the floral arrangements that can be offered on this occasion.
Festive meal for Valentine’s day
I think it is good to eat together whenever possible during a day, ideally three times a day. Whether you have breakfast, lunch or dinner, the arrangement of the dishes makes the simple act of eating an event. If time allows you can do this as often as possible! I think people who eat together stay more connected than those who don’t have this habit.
For Valentine’s Day, I took some photos with the three meals of the day that may inspire you in your choices for this event and more. For breakfast I prepared heart-shaped pastry rolls with Roquefort cheese, for lunch I prepared pork steak with white rice and lentils with Garam masala and for dinner chicken stuffed with baked vegetables. The dessert is Tiramisu with strawberry jam served in wine glasses.
You can also find some dessert ideas suitable for this occasion in the article Stylish Anniversaries.
I do not offer consultations about love, but if you were to ask me I would say that it would be better not to forget about it! No matter how caught up in your daily routine, remember to spend time with your loved one!
